B's Lock-Up Beantown Brawler October 6, 2009 -- The Boston Bruins will hold a press conference tomorrow afternoon to announce the signing of bruising forward Milan Lucic to a three-year contract extension.
The deal, which is rumored to be worth a total of $12.25 million, would keep Lucic in Boston through the 2012-13 season. Lucic would have been a restricted free agent at the end of this season.
The 21-year-old left winger immediately became of one of Boston's fan favorites when he arrived on the scene just two years ago due to his penchant for throwing the gloves off and quickly getting to work. Lucic led all Bruins players in fighting majors and penalty minutes (136).
He also set career highs last year with 17 goals, 25 assists and a plus-17 rating. He had three goals and six assists with a team-leading plus-12 in 10 playoff games. |
