Veteran Hill Chooses Phoenix Over Boston

After much pursuit and talk around the town, veteran forward Grant Hill has decided to resign with the Phoenix Suns rather than sign in Boston or New York, who had both been actively pursuing the Suns swingwman.

According to agent Lon Babby, Hill received a two-year deal with Phoenix paying $3 million in the first year with a player option in second year paying $3.24 million.
The Celtics could only offer the $1.9 million bi-annual exception

Babby declined to get into specifics as to why Hill turned down the Celtics and New York during a conference call.

With Hill playing his first full season in the NBA in nearly a decade, the much touted Suns training staff who also kept Shaquille O’Neal healthy, could also have played a role in Hill’s return.
