March 14, 2010 -- LeBron James scored 30 points, 24 in the second half, and Cleveland wore down the aging Boston Celtics in the second half for a 104-93 victory on Sunday, the Cavaliers' second decisive win over one of the East's premier teams in less than a month.
Cleveland also got a big game from Anderson Varejao off the bench. He scored 15 of his 17 points in the first half.
Meanwhile, the C's (41-24) got 20 points from Ray Allen, along with Rajon Rondo chipping in with 16 points and eight assists. Kevin Garnett (18) and Paul PIerce (18) also scored in double figures.
Sunday's game got away from Boston in the same fashion so many others have this season: rebounding. The Cavs held a decisive 27-10 scoring advantage in second-chance points. For the game, Cleveland was plus-eight on the boards.
The C's fell behind by as many as 17 in the fourth, but the C's rallied with an 8-2 run capped off by a 3-pointer from Allen to make it a 91-80 game. But Lebron capped off the final minutes, consistently taking the hoops to the basket and forcing a tired Celtics team to foul him and put him on the line.
The Cavaliers, already assured of a playoff spot, improved their NBA-best record to 52-15, stretching their Central division lead over Milwaukee to 15 games.
