Leigh Bodden Appears to Return to New England but Questions Linger

March 8, 2010 -- New England Patriot's top cornerback Leigh Bodden appears to be on the verge of resigning with the team despite his agent speaking out against the report. NFL Network's Mike Lombardi reported earlier that the Patriots had indeed re-signed free agent CB Leigh Bodden. That is when Bodden's agent put out the following statement.

"Reports of Leigh Bodden re-signing with the Patriots are not true and premature at best. Leigh is still evaluating his options." Although the deal has not been made official, it appears the Patriots have a deal in place but the pen has not yet been put to paper. Bodden had visited with the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Bodden's return to New England should put a smile on the face of Pats' fans, as he was the Patriots' top cornerback in 2009, playing in 15 games while leading the team with 17 passes defended. He tied for the team lead with five interceptions.
